Saddl’up with us for an evening
of High Noon adventure under the stars, when Cowboy poet and
singer Michael Martin Murphy joins The POPS in bringing
the romance, mystery and inimitable beauty of the wild, wild
west to resounding life. “(Murphy) is among America’s best songwriters,”
says Country star Lyle Lovett. Also
traveling with us on this memorable musical journey back to
America’s Home on the Range is an extraordinary cast
of cowboys and cowgirls— including Hoss, Ben Cartwright and
Little Joe, Annie Oakley, and Billy the Kid. We’re westward
bound…and look forward to welcoming you on the trail beside
us. |

Night, like music, wears many
guises—from sizzling and sexy to soothing to spooky. Night sings
lullabies. Night swings. Night is On Bald Mountain and
Where the Wild Things Are.. Most of all, night is when
the stars come out—stars like the POPS’ favorite baritone, Nmon
Ford. Together, with Nmon and the orchestra, meet the composers
inspired by “that good night”— Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart,
Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter and Quincy Jones,
among others—and enjoy a great evening of A Little Night Music. |

From “sea to shining sea,”
America is as beautiful musically as it is visually. Experience
how helluva towns like San Francisco, Chicago and New York have
inspired composers from Leonard Bernstein to Johnny Mercer…and
see them, too! Our ‘accompaniment’ will include aerial footage
of America’s great cities. Also on our evening’s ‘itinerary’
are western classics first made famous by orchestras from Boston
to Dallas to Minneapolis… Meet us in St. Louis and cheer
Hooray for Hollywood as we head off on a spectacular
tour of America’s top ‘musical’ metropolises and places—led
personally by our very own Maestra, Rachael Worby. |

Not just June is Bustin’
Out All Over when we celebrate Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy
Days of Summer. As fall rapidly approaches and, with it,
a return to our usual hectic, crammed workaday schedules and
obligations, join us as we explore the distinctive allure and
evocative sounds of marvelous, magical Summertime…when the livin’—and
listening—is easy. Discover how generations of composers—from
Haydn and Vivaldi to Prokofiev, Piazzola and Michel Legrand—
have paid tribute to this most special season. All of us hold
fond memories of summers past—some even as far back as The
Summer of ’42. Why not add yet another, A Midsummer Night’s
Dream in a beautiful, moonlight-dappled garden, surrounded
by the stars and a galaxy of great medleys? This concert is
a ‘keeper’—one to replay in your heart for years to come.
